Greetings!

For once not wearing my bookstore hat, I am reaching out to you all regarding Reed's participation in the 2016 Portland Marathon on October 9, 2016.

We are hoping to add another 20% increase to last year's showing and have 70-80 Reedies run the 2016 Portland Half or Full Marathon. We managed to negotiate excellent rates and, thanks to some financial support from the college, you can register at incredibly low prices for either the Half or the Full Marathon as follows:

Students: $50
Staff & faculty: $75
**Alumi and similarly connected folks: $100

Please note that these smoking deals do include both a Reed Runner shirt and a Marathon Finisher shirt. 

Students - please contact me if the $50 registration is beyond your means; we do have some additional funds to make sure that "no student runner left behind" is true at Reed, too...

Seniors - if you register with us by the end of July, you'll still qualify for the $50 student rate. 

Please use the Reed registration site in order to qualify for these rates - I will send out details about how to pay to all registered Reed runners. If you have already registered at the official Portland Marathon site, please re-register on our site and check the "already registered box" so we know that you are planning on running plus we may have some funds to contribute towards your registration.
